Babcock International Group’s Marine Division has completed a study to investigate the commercial implications of developing a nuclear-powered LNG carrier—a move that would be a first for LNG vessels. Among its findings, the study has identified that recently updated legislation and available classification society rules allow for a fresh approach to the design of nuclear powered vessels.

In line with the strategy for cleaner fuel that was launched in early 2000, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has announced that twenty-five percent of the emirate’s vehicles will be running on cleaner and cheaper CNG and Green Diesel by 2012.

The owners of CNG refuelling stations across Bangladesh have issued an ultimatum to the government: Remove the daily six hour ban on CNG pumps, or face having no CNG pumps operating at all. The owners have decided on starting a non-stop strike from November 1 unless the government order is withdrawn by October 31.

Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation has developed a proprietary addictive (NX-TenkaTM) that when combined with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), produces a effective cutting gas they are calling N83TM.  N83TM is a viable replacement for acetylene (C2H2), which is commonly used for industrial welding and cutting for shipyards, steel mills and fabrication houses.
